The A.I. Among Us
Understanding the Deepness of Deep Learning.
As an integral part of many industries, Artificial Intelligence is progressing rapidly and becoming a part of our daily lives. Just by using the internet, there could be a chance that you will be part for an algorithm used for the future of technology through data. But, how far are we from true artificial intelligence? Could A.I. be among us?

Well, today, we have already developed an advance machine learning technology with extensive behavioral algorithms that has an ability to cater what we need to do and what we like to see. Through high computing power and massive amounts of data, these machines learn the patterns and algorithms to mimic how the human brains think.
One popular example for the application of A.I. is Natural Language Processing (NLP), where the machine learns to be proficient in understanding speech or text that were delivered in natural language. This is being used by virtual assistants and chat bots like Siri, Alexa, Cortana, etc. We can also relate, Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability that uses A.I. / Deep Neural Networks to perform semantic segmentation, object detection and monocular depth estimation that learns from diverse scenarios in the world. Interestingly, A.I. was also used to study the most strategic of games we have like Jeopardy, Chess and Go, wherein the machine successfully acquired the skill to beat even the world champions.
The documentary of Google’s DeepMind AlphaGo, shows us an aspect on how machines can be so much intelligent that it can overpower our geniuses like Lee Sedol in the world of the game “Go”, which is considered as the most complex board game ever devised by man. There are moments when AlphaGo made “weird” moves that people think unnecessary but in the end it turns out to be right move for victory. Lee Sedol managed to win one game out of five, he managed to somehow adapt on how AlphaGo plays the game. However on the last game, AlphaGo won again because the machine is designed to learn from past iterations and improve its algorithm to avoid losing the game.
Looking at the brighter side, these machines can help and teach us to be better thinkers. Cracking the code of the games mentioned does not aim to kill the essence of it but rather gives us the knowledge that Artificial Intelligence has a greater potential to be applied in any field. With this, we can have the capacity to build more machines that can solve more serious world problems like an A.I. that can detect cancers better than human doctors, and even our today’s enemy COVID-19; Artificial intelligence model detects asymptomatic Covid-19 infections through cellphone-recorded coughs. This shows why Big Data matters and why it is powerful.
With technology advancing each day, there will be a time that A.I. will take over. Hence, people should learn how to use big data responsibly and with a purpose.
Develop helpful A.I. machines that are going to be among us soon.
